2023 Ireland OSPA Award Winners Announced
The second Ireland Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) event, sponsored by TEAM Software by WorkWave, took place at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin on 26 May 2023.
Security professionals gathered to celebrate the very best from across the sector with a thought leadership summit and presentation event hosted by the OSPAs founder, Professor Martin Gill.
Commenting on the event Professor Gill said ‘We are delighted by interest we have received in this second year. The OSPAs serve to recognise the whole industry; they are independent and are run on strict ethical principles creating a level playing for all.’
‘The OSPAs event is a true celebration to acknowledge and recognise the fantastic work that is taking place across the security sector and all those that were nominated should feel very proud” he further said.
Lifetime Achievement Award
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Gary Bergin. Garry is a highly experience security professional with over two decades of security operations management experience across a variety of security industry sectors. He has many industry accreditations and is currently studying towards a Professional Doctorate at the University of Portsmouth. Judges commented that Garry’s resume is one of the most impressive in the Irish Security Industry and that his commitment is a major driving force behind the successful development of Manguard Plus (the company where he works), as well as being a key figure across the entire Irish security sector in the context of ensuring it is an effective, flexible, innovative and fit for purpose industry for a modern Ireland.
